Electromechanical locks

How to choose a lock

Electromechanical mortise locks operate as a part of access control systems that can be found at modern offices, business centers, enterprises and institutions. PERCo manufactures electromechanical locks which are powered through a deadbolt. PERCo lock models for standard and profile doors differ by operation mode (normally closed and normally open)

PERCo locks are electromechanical mortise locks designed for operation as part of Access control systems. PERCo produces two model series of locks: LB-series and LC-series. Both of them are made for indoor operation for doors of small and medium thickness (from 38 to 50 mm). For thin metallic profile doors the special LBP locks are designed.

LB-series is a new product of PERCo company, which is unique at the market. In LB-series locks voltage is supplied through contacts in the locking bolt of LB-series lock. Power cable and control cable are connected through the strike plate in the door frame, not through the door leaf, which makes installation easier and provides aesthetically pleasing exterior of the door.

In the LC-series locks the control cable is connected in the ordinary way, through the door leaf. LC-series locks have two operation modes - day-time (with small bolt throw) and night-time (with enhanced bolt throw).

Differing in control mode (normally open/closed) and in centre-to-centre spacing, locks of LB series are presented in 6 models, while LC series locks are presented in 4 models.

Model Control mode Centre-to-centre spacing Type of locking bolt
LB85.3 Normally closed 85 mm Flat locking bolt, with blocker roll
LB85.4 Normally open 85 mm Flat locking bolt, with blocker roll
LBP85.1 Normally closed 85 mm Flat locking bolt, with blocker roll
LBP85.2 Normally open 85 mm Flat locking bolt, with blocker roll
Place of installation Required type of lock Corresponding lock models
Premises with standard safety requirements – offices, accountant departments, warehouses, staff rooms. Normally-closed electromechanical lock with potential operating mode – opens when energized. When the power is off, the lock can be unblocked mechanically with a key or thumbscrew (from inside). LB85.3
LBP85.1
Premises with high public safety requirement – emergency, staircase and elevator exits, childcare, educational and healthcare facilities. Normally-open electromechanical lock with potential operating mode – opens when deenergized. The lock opens in any situation (ACS controller failure, damaged cable, power loss). LB85.4
LBP85.2

Voltage is supplied through the groups of contacts in the locking bolt and in the mating lock under the keeper. Installation is made through the door frame, which allows saving door and avoid using adapters.

Stable lock operation in case of door leaf deformation due to the seasonal factor is provided by the moving contact system and neodymium magnets, designed in the lock construction.

When the door is open the locking bolt moves inside the housing, the blocker roll pulls out automatically. When the door is closed the blocker roll starts sliding on the strike plate and moves inside the lock housing that causes the locking bolt to pull out and the lock to close automatically.

Bolt throw is 15mm long.

Electromechanical mortise lock for profile doors energized with a bolt throw

Locks can be installed on standard and profile doors. For thin profile doors special LBP locks are designed.

LB locks can be installed both on the right- and left-hand doors without changing the bolt position.

  • Locks are working in accordance with ACS algorithms. Locks are operated by energizing/de-energizing. The lock will automatically return to closed position after the turn off of the signal. Thus the door will remain closed during false activations and passage refusal. Locks work properly as a part of ACS during the "Protection" mode switched on by double use of the card.

    Example of ACS operation
  • Locks are convenient in daily use. The door closes easily due to skew of the bolt and a special strike plate, without hitting of the door-post and necessity in additional efforts.
  • Locks have an aesthetic design after the installation thanks to mortise construction and elegant design of forend and strike plate. Locks are compatible with standard levers, handles, lock cylinders, escutcheon plates and locking cylinders, allowing choosing its color and shape in accordance with existing design. Power connection can be performed by using hidden cable or contact (for fail-safe) adapters, allowing to make it invisible.
  • Locks are universal, because they may be installed on both right-handed and left-handed doors. Necessary lock location may be performed easily by relocating the bolt during the lock installation.
  • Locks can easily replace mechanical locks thanks to their standard sizes. The 72 mm and 85 mm distances between axes of handles and locking cylinders meet the most widespread standards, that allows to replace mechanical locks with electromechanical locks without any reconstruction of the door.
